Many people think they don’t have enough time to work out or don’t know what to do when working alone. All in all, they don’t feel motivated to start their workout. We get it! It is a challenge just to throw on your workout clothes, let alone to start tackling your fitness goals. Our inner couch potato is often our worst enemy. It talks us into believing that a workout will feel much worse than it actually is.

As fitness experts, we at Home Core Fitness want to help you get rid of this enemy. This is why we have written down three ways to help you get motivated to work out.

Start small
You don’t need to run a marathon three times a week or prepare for a bodyweight training competition to be fit. All you need is to get up and commit to just ten minutes of a workout, and you will see how much even that will help! You will feel motivated to continue, or you can rest easy knowing you did something good for your body for ten minutes, which is also incredible!

Do ANY workout that you like
Think outside the box. Find sports or activities that you enjoy, then vary the routine to keep it interesting. If you’re not enjoying your workouts, try something different. Check out a health club or martial arts center. Have a dance party at home. Rollerblade. Swim in the pool. Join a community softball team. If you like to work out at home, look online for videos of many types of exercise classes, such as yoga, high-intensity interval training, or kickboxing. Or take a walk or jog in a local park. Discover your hidden athletic talent or interests. Remember, exercise doesn’t have to be boring, and you’re more likely to stick with a workout program if you’re having fun.

Put them in your calendar as meetings
If you think you don’t have time, then make an appointment for your workouts during the week. Put them as meetings that can’t be canceled and create that window of time for yourself. Make it a thirty-minute meeting and do a short HIIT workout, go for a long walk, or take a yoga class online. Virtual personal training sessions are a great way to get a workout with a personal trainer without having to leave your house or place of work.

Takeaway
It is important that you make yourself a priority. Keep your workouts short and effective. Hiring a personal trainer to guide you through your workout takes the guesswork out of what you should do and creates a high level of accountability. Set your goals, make it fun, and pat yourself on the back from time to time. Remember, physical activity is for life.
